The Competition Rules

Entry Form
Each section entered must be accompanied by a separate, properly completed entry form. Each entry must have a title which must be shown on the entry & the entry form.

Entry Dates
Unless otherwise advertised, entries for competitions are to be given to the Print & Slide/Digital Secretaries at the meetings indicated in the Syllabus.

General
Original image must be the work of the author.

Slide/Digital
Both A & B Grade compete in one competition in this section. Up to 2 images may be entered per competition.
All slides must be spotted in the lower left hand corner of the mount when the slide is held & viewed in the correct position. The slide title is to be across the top of the slide on the same side. All slides entered will be scanned for judging and display.
Digital files must not exceed 1024 pixels in a horizontal direction x 768 pixels in a vertical direction. Resolution will be 180 pixels per inch, & the file format must be .jpeg. The files are to be burnt to a CD with the member’s name and title to be written onto the CD & the accompanying entry form.

Small Prints
A Grade – Open to all A Grade members
B Grade – Open to all B grade members who have not qualified to enter A Grade in any other competitions.
Up to 2 prints may be entered each month.
Maximum print size to be 150mmx100mm & must be mounted on a matt board no larger than 230mmx180mm.
Digital & commercial prints may be entered, they may be cropped but must not be enhanced.

Large Prints
Two prints may be entered each month.
Images may be enhanced.
There is no print maximum size however that prints must be mounted on a matt board which does not exceed 500mmx400mm in size.

A & B Grade Colour
Any photographs which is not monochrome, including monochrome images which have been partially toned or had colour added will be classed as colour prints.

A & B Grade Monochrome
Monochrome is defined as any print containing shades of only one colour, if toning is carried out it must be over the whole image.
Addition of one extra colour or partial toning is not acceptable.
